Vintage Winchester lever-action rifle chambered in .32 Winchester Special and manufactured in 1938 in New Haven, CT. The rifle maintains the standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on top of the barrel and receiver. It is equipped with a blade/bead front sight dovetailed on a ramp (missing removable hood), smooth curved trigger, checkered hammer spur, and a Winchester 22G sporting rear sight. It utilizes a two thirds length tubular magazine with a five cartridge capacity. The furniture is American walnut with a smooth semi-pistol grip stock, smooth forearm, and a checkered steel buttplate. It features a 24" round barrel with a dirty bore and strong rifling. The action is crisp and smooth. The original blued finish is approximately 20% with faded bluing, some edge wear, scratches, minor pitting, and light scattered rust. The wood is good displaying normal handling marks, and a few heavier dings on the handguard and two on the stock.
